Job Profile

We are happy to announce our new job opening for a ‘Graduate Design Engineer’, this role will essentially be responsible for the design and detailing of company product.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • To design/draw plastic injection moulded and metal connectors as required.
  • Definition of the form, fit and function of component designs, including correct tolerance application, using 3-D and or 2-D design tools as appropriate under the guidance of the Project Manager or Project Engineer.
  • To produce design / product presentations and supporting documentation appropriate under the guidance of the Project Manager or Project Engineer.
  • To develop an appreciation of the implications of design for manufacture /assembly, and the importance of design for production.
  • To understand the basic principles of plastic injection moulding and metal cutting/forming techniques.
  • To develop an appreciation of the cost implications of design/project decisions.
  • Use MS Office software as required.
  • To comply with all applicable work instructions operable within the organisation.
  • To comply fully with all applicable Health & Safety regulations in operation within the Company whilst carrying out your duties.
  • To carry out any reasonable task which falls within your capabilities.

Job requirements

About you:

  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work to a demanding schedule and thrive under pressure
  • Experience of SolidWorks 3D CAD software beneficial

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in an engineering design subject (e.g. Mechanical or Product)
