Job Profile

We are happy to announce our new job opening for ‘Prototype Development Machinist’ who will be responsible for manufacture of plastic and metal components to assist in prototype operation and design.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Programme and operate EMCO 365 Siemens Sinumerik control machining centre to produce components to required specification

• Work on necessary workshop equipment, primarily manual operated lathes and milling machines
• Production of electrodes from component drawings
• Plan personal workload efficiently and effectively to meet completion dates as scheduled
• Liaise with NPD team and other departments integral to development to ensure prototype models meet requirements
• Work to BS8888 drawing standards and other associated BS standards
• Record drawing changes and deviations to allow later use for reference
• Comply with all current work guidelines and health and safety instructions within the organisation
• Work within Abrasive Wheels Regulations certificate guidelines
• Carry out periodic cleaning and preventative machinery maintenance where applicable
• Carry out any reasonable task which falls within your capabilities

• Ability to work to a demanding schedule and thrive under pressure

Qualifications & Skills

• City and Guilds or NVQ in a relevant subject
• Experience in CNC programming/operation preferably with Siemens Fanuc control software
