Job requirements

JOB PURPOSE

The promotion the principles of Quality improvement and the management of the QA and QE functions

 

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Comply with, promote and enforce health and safety requirements across the site

·       Management of the site Quality Engineering and QA teams

·       Maintain systems, procedures and instructions documentation throughout the manufacturing process

·       Develop and implement processes that improve Quality, customer or margin measures, using tools such as CAPA and PDCA

·       Identification and deployment of local / specific CI activities which contribute to the wider CI agenda, using tools including (but not limited to)

o   Value stream mapping

o   Rapid improvement techniques

o   Cross-functional training / coaching

o   Change management / engagement techniques

·       Management of site QA and Goods Inwards inspection activities

·       Quality representative for site-based APQP / NPI processes, including (but not limited to)

o   MSA

o   Gauge R&R

o   FMEA / QCP

o   Inspection sheets and WP, etc

o   Gauges

·       Investigation of internal customer and supplier quality issues and development of corrective and preventive actions

·       Escalation of issues which cannot be resolved

·       Escalation of complaints which are the subject of an insurance claim

·       Report Quality KPI’s to the Director of Quality

·       Communicate Quality KPI to site teams

·       Any necessary customer facing communication on issues / queries / questionnaires related to Quality

·       Carry out any reasonable task which falls within your capabilities

·       Follow a reasonable management request

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERTISE

·       Quality Engineering / Management experience, preferably from an automotive background

·       Quality tools including ISO 9001 (and IATF 16949), CAPA, PDCA, etc

·       Development and maintenance of KPI

·       Auditing to ISO 9001, including internal, customer or third party

·       Promoting the benefit of maintaining and improving inspection techniques

·       CI initiatives that promote staff engagement in continuous improvement activities

·       Identify and lead training to staff in Quality / CI activities across departments

REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

·       Literate and numerate

·       (Preferred) Engineering qualification

·       (Preferred) CI or quality management qualification
