Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Selection

•           Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies across assigned categories.

•           Identify, assess, and qualify potential suppliers aligned to business requirements.

•           Lead RFQ/RFP activities, supplier evaluations, and sourcing recommendations.

•           Conduct supplier benchmarking and comparative assessments.

•           Support make-versus-buy, dual-source, supplier consolidation, and outsourcing decisions.

•           Work with regional sourcing resources to evaluate supplier capabilities and opportunities.

Market Analysis & Commercial Evaluation

•           Monitor supply market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities.

•           Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, capacity, resilience, and supply continuity

•           Develop cost models and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses.

•           Analyse supplier quotations and commercial proposals

•           Provide sourcing recommendations supported by market, technical, and financial assessment.

Sourcing Project Delivery

•           Coordinate sourcing projects to implementation.

•           Develop project plans and coordinate activities across cross-functional teams.

•           Manage supplier selection, qualification, transition, and implementation activities.

•           Track project risks, actions, timelines, and benefits.

•           Ensure sourcing projects comply with governance requirements and business objectives. 

Supplier Assessment & Development

•           Participate in supplier assessments, capability reviews, and qualification activities.

•           Support supplier development initiatives alongside Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams.

•           Work with regional sourcing resources to assess supplier performance and development opportunities.

•           Identify opportunities for innovation, value engineering, and continuous improvement.

•           Support development of strategic supplier relationships.

Stakeholder Engagement

•           Build effective relationships across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Procurement.

•           Present sourcing recommendations supported by commercial and technical analysis.

•           Facilitate cross-functional decision-making during sourcing projects.

•           Align sourcing activities with business priorities and operational requirements.

•           Provide guidance and support on sourcing activities across regions where required.

Key Accountabilities

•           Delivery of sourcing project objectives.

•           Achievement of cost optimisation and value improvement opportunities.

•           Identification and qualification of suitable suppliers.

•           Development of robust sourcing recommendations supported by data and analysis.

•           Timely implementation of approved sourcing initiatives.

•           Maintenance of sourcing project documentation and governance requirements.

Skills & Experience required

• Experience in sourcing or procurement roles within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Proven experience managing RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, supplier selection, and sourcing projects.

• Strong analytical and commercial skills, including cost modelling, quotation analysis, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments.

• Ability to analyse supply markets, identify sourcing opportunities, and develop data-driven recommendations.

• Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Procurement.

• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, cost modelling, and business case development.

• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and supplier management tools.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.

• Knowledge of supplier qualification, supplier development, and supplier performance management processes.

• Experience with make-versus-buy analysis, outsourcing, supplier consolidation, and dual-sourcing initiatives.

• Experience working with international suppliers and cross-regional teams.,

Qualifications

• CIPS qualification (Level 4-6) or equivalent procurement/supply chain qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
